Blu Moon is the underground hip hop artist sensation and secret weapon of DAE ONE Records, waiting to be unleashed on the mainstream music scene. Blu Moon was born in Nassau, Bahamas, and raised in Florida. It was there that he fell in love with music with influences ranging from traditional hip hop artists like 8-Ball&MJG, Trick Daddy, and Scareface, and included, as well, such diverse styles as Reggae great Bob Marley, Metal band Metallica,

Alternative band: Foo Fighters, Blues legend Odes Redding and Classics artists like Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry. It was these open minded formative years that are ultimately responsible for the complexity that is Blu's unique sound which is taking hip hop to exciting new places and unexplored territory.

Blu's message speaks to more people than any other hip hop artist and "gangsta wanna be-fan" because he's just a man, like you and me, chasing dreams like you and me. Blu's music can only be described accurately by combining no less than five different genera. He himself though, can be personified in just three simple words. He's "The People's Rapper."

I've always been fascinated with music, especially lyrics. A great song is a great escape. However, it wasn't until I graduated college, and couldnt find a job, that I began playing guitar seriously. And while I have never taken any lessons in anything music related, I've been able to figure out the basics on my own. It was during that year of unemployment that I began writing more songs than I could keep track of. However, that was not my first or only year of songwriting. That is one thing I did begin very young. I can clearly remember writing lyrics against the brick wall of my elementary school during recess. And in junior high, instead of passing notes, I was passing lyrics between friends. Something just clicked, however, when the guitar came around, and songs started pouring out. Of course with a guitar and lyrics, singing gets added into the picture. And while I love to sing, and I love to play, by far my favorite aspect of music is songwriting. I have no idea what the future holds but I just thank God for giving me an opportunity to even try.
